Located in the City of Westminster and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea in central London, Bayswater is a built-up district located 3 miles west-north-west of Charing Cross. It borders the north of Hyde Park and has attractive streets and garden squares lined with Victorian stucco terraces.  Queensway and Westbourne Grove are its busiest main streets, both having many ethnic-cuisine restaurants. The London Underground stations serving Bayswater are Bayswater, Royal Oak and Lancaster Gate tube stations. Central Line’s Queensway station is less than 100 metres away from Bayswater station. The railway stations near Bayswater tube station are Shepherd’s Bush Overground Station and Paddington Railway Station.

Whiteleys Shopping Centre

London’s first department store which currently has a large number of shops and places to eat, including Marks & Spencer, HMV, Starbucks and a sushi bar. The Centre also has an Odeon cinema and bowling alley. The ground floor was transformed into a ‘foodstore’ that sells fresh fish, meat, dry goods, wine and meat from the shopping centre’s own farm.

Marble Arch

Marble Arch is a 19th-century white marble faced triumphal arch and London landmark, located on a large traffic island at the junction of Oxford Street, Park Lane, and Edgware Road. The area around the arch is also known as Marble Arch as is the southern portion of Edgware Road and the nearby underground station. It has a large number of hotels.

Hyde Park

Hyde Park is one of the Royal Parks of London and one of the largest in London. It offers lush green meadows and many attractions such as Serpentine Lake, Serpentine Solar, Speakers’ Corner, Serpentine Gallery and Princess Diana Memorial Playground and Princess Diana Memorial Fountain. It is contiguous with Kensington Gardens.

Saint Sophia Cathedral

Saint Sophia Cathedral is a Greek Orthodox Church on Moscow Road in the Bayswater area of London that serves the prosperous Greek community that had settled in London, particularly around Paddington, Bayswater and Notting Hill.

The Mitre

The Mitre is a Grade II listed public house at 24 Craven Terrace, Bayswater in London. It was built in the mid 19th century.
